Tavern Generator

The party always goes to the tavern. One click gives you the whole establishment — a name for the sign, the feel of the room, one patron worth talking to, the rumor doing laps tonight, and what the cook is serving whether you like it or not.

The tavern is never optional

You can prep the dungeon, the villain, and the weather, and the party will still spend forty minutes in a tavern you invented one syllable at a time. This generator hands you the whole room at once, so the improvisation starts from something instead of nothing.

Five parts, one place

A tavern becomes real through specifics: the name on the sign, what the room feels like when the door opens, one person worth noticing, one rumor worth chasing, and food that tells the party what kind of place they're in. Roll until one feels inhabited, keep it, and it's yours for the whole campaign.

Rumors are free adventure hooks

Every rumor generated here is deliberately half-finished — true, false, or exaggerated is your call at the table. The good ones become next week's session; the rest become the texture that makes your world feel like it keeps moving when the party isn't looking.

Are these tavern names and rumors from published adventures?

No — every name, patron, rumor, and menu line is original invented content written for this generator. Nothing is drawn from any publisher's adventures or settings, so nothing will collide with your campaign's canon.

Can I keep a tavern for my campaign?

Yes — hit Keep and the full tavern (name to menu) is saved in your browser's keep list until you clear it. Pair it with the Session Notes tool to give it a permanent home in your campaign log.

Is this tavern generator free?

Yes — free, no ads, no signup, and it runs entirely in your browser. Kept taverns are stored only on your own device.
