Plot Hook Generator

Session's tomorrow and the page is blank. One click gives you a hook — a job, a problem, a body, a door — and the twist underneath it, because the job is never just the job. Keep the ones that itch.

Everything is generated in your browser from original, invented content — nothing from any publisher, nothing sent anywhere. Kept items stay on this device.

Every session starts with one sentence

Campaigns are built out of single sentences that got out of hand — someone needs a thing moved, something is wrong with the water, the wrong person turned up alive. This generator produces those sentences, plus the complication that turns an errand into a story.

The twist does the heavy lifting

A hook without a twist is a fetch quest. The twist line is the part your players will actually remember — it's generated separately from the hook, which means the combinations land in places neither line would alone. Roll until two halves spark against each other.

Prompts, not prescriptions

Nothing here specifies a system, a level, or a stat block. A hook that reads as a back-alley job in one campaign is a royal conspiracy in another — the generator hands you the spark, and your table decides the size of the fire.

Are these hooks from published adventures?

No — every hook and twist is original invented content written for this generator. If one resembles a published adventure, that's coincidence; the combinations are assembled randomly in your browser.

How should I use the twist line?

However your table likes. Reveal it mid-session, hold it for the finale, or discard it and let the hook play straight — the twist is a suggestion for where the story bends, not a requirement.

Is this plot hook generator free?

Yes — free, no ads, no signup, and it runs entirely in your browser. Kept hooks are stored only on your own device.
